Philosophy:
Our Lady of Grace School is an extension of the family and Church. We strive to create a environment in which each child is nurtured and encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, culturally, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our lad lady of grace aims to provide the best opportunity to realize the three fold purpose of Christian education, to each the message of salvation and to promote the fellowship in the life of the Church through regular worship, communion prayer and school liturgies and to encourage service to all. We believe that by modeling the teaching of Jesus, we provide our students with education that fosters the values of self work, self discipline an respect for others. We aim to install in our students a awareness to the responsibilities of service to others and stewardship in our community. We attempt to develop skills and attitudes that will lead to a life long desire to acquire knowledge, that will enable students to approach new concepts and skills with the confidence that is necessary for mastery, striving to one's best, positive approach to challenges, the ability to make the correct choice and to promote consistent non violent responses to difficult situations
Academic Purpose:
The academic purpose of the school is central within the context of the Christian environment. The child must learn to master the techniques of problem solving and become better prepared for the rigors of education he/she will face in higher levels of learning. Students need to be challenged in order to grow to their fullest potential while realizing that for each child the learning experience will differ. Students have different learning styles, therefore to ensure the student's success in learning a realistic adaptation of instructional material to the abilities and interest of students a each learning level is paramount. in the primary grades, we work on developing the positive self concept of the child. Praise and the feeling of genuine accomplishment help to make the child feel positive about him/herself and his /her abilities. In the upper grades we strive responsibility for one's actions and the importance of setting a example for younger children. We offer opportunities to help strengthen the sudden academic and individual growth, and opportunities for leadership in class and student government. Although we would like to be able to meet the needs of all children we realize our lady of grace may not be e the right leaning environment for a particular child. In that case, we work with the parent to try to find a more appropriate setting.
