Dear Parent/Guardian,
Time is certainly moving at a fast pace. Only one month is left before the end of the school year.
TESTS
The month of May is a full month of teaching instruction and testing.
Grades 4, 6 & 8 will take the NYS Math Exam on the week of May 5-7, 2010.
Grade 8 students will begin their Final Exams from June 1st thru June 4.
Grade 4 and 8 NYS Science Performance Exam will be administered from May 24th thru Jun 3rd, 2010.
Grades 3 through 8 will take the Archdiocesan Religion Test on June 9, 2010. To avoid missing these tests, students may not stay away from school, only in the case of an emergency.
SPRING FUNDRAISER
Thanks to the families who have participated in the spring fundraiser. The following students were the three top sellers in the fundraiser:
1st Place - Talia Matthews (4th Grade) sold 18 boxes Ü $200 off 1 month's tuition
2nd Place - Tiffany Hyman (5th Grade) sold 14 boxes Ü $100 off 1 month's tuition
3rd Place - Taylor Hathorn (5th Grade) sold 13 boxes Ü $50 off 1 month's tuition
BOOK FAIR
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held on May 3-13, 2010 in the school cafeteria from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily. The fair will be closed during both lunch periods (11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.). Parents & guardians are all welcome to the Fair. There are a variety of books to view and purchase.
MAY CROWNING
May being the month dedicated to Mary, during the First Friday Mass at 9:00am on May 7th, 2010, the statue of Mary will be crowned. Those parents who are able to attend are cordially invited for our First Friday Mass.

LUDEL'S UNIFORMS On Tuesday May 25 th at 9:00am, the staff of Lu-Del's School Uniform will be present to measure students for their school uniform. I do encourage you to order whatever your child needs, rather than wait until September for the last minute rush.
TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO SAVE On Tuesday May 4, 2010, a representative of Ridgewood Savings Bank will visit Our Lady of Grace School to inform and encourage our students how to save. Students will receive a bag with incentives as well as a form to complete and return with as low as $1 (One dollar) to open a Youth Savings Account (Kids Club). Please support your child.
PARENT'S CONCERNS
If you have a concern or problem regarding your child and it is school related please discuss it with your child's teacher as your first step. Please refrain from coming to the administration before discussing the issue with the class teacher.
TUITION/FEES
There are still families with outstanding tuition, picture and candy money. Please contact Mr. Almeida, the Finance Secretary or the F.A.C.T Program to clear up this problem and to avoid paying late fees. All financial obligations must be met by May 17, 2010 for your child to take their FINAL EXAMS!!!
SCHOOL YEAR 2010-2011
For those parents who missed the deadline to Re-register their child/children for the School Year 2010-11 please do Re-register immediately. Re-registration Fee is now $75 per child (without exception). We do have a new tuition company (SMART Tuition) that will be responsible for collecting all tuition fees for the new school year 2010-2011. SMART TUITION forms and brochures were already sent home to you through your child on April 25th, 2010. Kindly sign and return the SMART Tuition forms on or before the deadlines of May 17, 2010. ONLY THE GENERAL FEE $425 (Grades Kdg-8) and $300 (Grade Pre-K3/4) will be accepted in the School Office on or before Jun 14, 2010. We hope in the new School Year NOT to collect ANY MONEY in the School Office except maybe for Afterschool fee.
