MONTHLY MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL
March 2008 Newsletter
Dear parents/Guradians,
As a faith community, let us get in the habit of praying, fasting and giving alms to the poor and needy during this season of Lent. Be reminded that the Lenten season brings growth, gives hope and binds us lovingly to our faith.
Re registration ends on March 7, 2008. If your child/children have not re registered for the 2008-2009 school year, he/she is not guaranteed a space in the school. Late re registration fee is $75.00 as of Monday march 10th 2008
 Applications are being accepted, starting March 3rd, 2008 for new students who wish to enroll in Our Lady of Grace for the next school year for Grades Pre K3 thru 7. Only limited spaces are available in some grades. Due to low enrollment in some grades there will be only one class for these grades. Call the school office for more information 718 547-9918.
The grade 4 and 8 NY'S Mathematics test will be administered during the week of March 3rd and 10th. The Archdiocesan ITBS & COGat standardized tests will be administered to students of grades 1 thru 8 from April 2nd thru the 16th. Please encourage your child/children to review reading, mathematics, comprehension and language arts skills. Ensure that your child has sufficient sleep, a healthy breakfast and two sharpened no. 2 pencils daily. Good grades mean dedication to schoolwork and homework. Kindergarten ITBS tests will be administered in April
 For the past four years, Our Lady of Grace students have participated in the Math a thon" to aid the St. Jude Children Research Hospital for children with cancer. Please support your child/children to complete as many math problems as possible at a cost. Based on the amount of donations, students can win many exciting prizes. The Math a thon will be done during the Lenten Season March.
The spring fundraiser ends on march 14, 2008. Thanks to all the parents who have tried so hard to make the Spring fund raiser a success. First place - 1 month tuition free, 2nd place-$100, and 3rd place $50. For every three boxes of candy sold, each student receives a N.U.T. (No uniform Today) card. For the "NUT" card, the student must wear appropriate attire with the homeroom teacher's approval. All outstanding candy money must be sent to the school office as soon as possible for the prizes to be awarded and to bring closure to the candy sale. Families who did not participate in the fundraiser or paid the $175.00 since October 1st 2007, will be billed for $200.00
Portrait day will be on Wednesday March 14, 2008. Flyers will be distributed to students.
