Dear Parent/Guardian,

                                        Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!
Benjamin Franklin once said “an investment in knowledge always paid the best interest.”

As we start another academic year we are particularly anxious to get under way.  For all returning students and families - “Welcome Back!”  For the new students and families - “Welcome and congratulations on becoming part of the Our Lady of Grace family”.  We are pleased to have you as partners in your child's elementary education.  We invite your participation in the exciting experiences and challenges of your child's learning and growing.  We sincerely hope that in working together we can provide the positive educational environment your child needs in becoming a well-rounded individual.

Just to let you know:  
There will be only one class per grade level.

Mrs. Andersson, Mrs. Rynne, Mr. K Williams and Mr. Dwayne Fuller are no longer with us. We wish to thank them for their contribution to our students.

All students must assemble in the cafeteria every morning at 7:50 a.m.

School will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. for all grades, except Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 students (only) may be picked up by 3:30 p.m. when parents are unable to pick them up at 2:45 p.m.  The 7th and 8th Graders will be dismissed at 3.00p.m. On first Fridays all students must be picked by 12:00 p.m. except for those enrolled in the after-school program.  
      Punctuality is required.  Late passes will be issued to all latecomers at 8:10 a.m.    Late
No child will be admitted into the school building before 7:15 a.m., when Breakfast Program begins.

Punctuality is required. Late passes will be issued to all latecomer at 8:10a.m. Late arrivals disrupt the classroom routine and inconvenience other students. The 7th and 8th graders must be in class by 7:50 a.m., they will be considered late at 8:00 a.m.
To enforce safety no parent may go to the classroom with their child (except Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classrooms).  Additionally, parents must be dressed appropriately when entering the school building. Remember our children follow by example.
During this week, your child will give you the following:

Emergency Card - complete, sign & return by Monday September 20, 2010 to your child's teacher.

A copy of the Updated Yearly Calendar will be sent home in the month of October.
GOOD NEWS! All students of Our Lady of Grace School will continue to receive “Free Breakfast & Lunch” - Yes… No Cost to Parents!   The Lunch/Breakfast programs will begin on Thursday September 9, 2010.  All bag lunches must be nutritious. NO SODA or FAST FOOD is allowed in the cafeteria, only fruit juice, fruit drinks, milk or water will be permitted.
Our Lady of placePlaceNameGrace PlaceNameSchool is selected for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) under which students from Grade Pre-K - 6 will be served a snack of fresh fruits and vegetables daily.
The After-school Program will begin on Monday September 13, 2010. You may pick-up application forms in the school office. If you have not received one already. Mr. Mark LaRosa the new director of the Afterschool Program will inform you of procedures and payments.
Home/School Association - All parents are members of the HSA. However, we need parents who will serve as officers. Interested parents are asked to leave their name; childs name; and the office they are interested to serve eg. President, Secretary etc. office.

Individual initiative and dedication can accomplish wonders.
Please get involved in your child's education.
Get your child to school on time.
Check his/her homework every night.
Show interest in what your child did in school.
Pick-up your child on time from school.
Help whenever possible in school, this will let your child know that you are truly a part of his/her educational growth.
